Who we are
Elucify is run by Algorithmica Consultancy Ltd, trading as Elucify, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12203791), registered office Office 408, Screenworks, 22 Highbury Grove, London N5 2ER, United Kingdom. "We" and "us" mean that company. You can reach us at abuse@elucify.dev about content and privacy@elucify.dev about your data.
What Elucify is
Elucify turns explanations written by your AI assistant (for example Claude Code with the Elucify plugin) into narrated, animated explanations that play in a web browser, and gives you links to watch and share them. It is a free beta: features, limits and these terms may change, and the service may be interrupted or end. We'll give notice of material changes where we reasonably can.
Who can use it
You must be 13 or older to create explanations. By continuing at the sign-in step you confirm that you are. Anyone with a link can watch an explanation without signing in.
Your content
You are responsible for the explanations you create, including what your AI assistant writes for you. You keep whatever rights you have in them. You allow us to store, process, narrate and show them to anyone who has one of their links, for as long as we provide the service, and to keep copies needed to deal with reports or legal obligations.
Explanations are generated by AI and can be wrong. They are not professional, medical, legal or financial advice.
Links
The first link you get is secret but not private: anyone who has it can watch, and it can't be withdrawn. A share link can be given to anyone and withdrawn later; when it is, it stops working at once. When a share link is posted in apps such as Slack, X, iMessage or WhatsApp, those apps fetch its title and preview image and may keep their copy after the link is withdrawn.
What you must not do
Don't use Elucify to create or share anything that:
- is illegal, or promotes or helps with illegal activity;
- sexualises children in any way, or is pornographic;
- harasses, threatens or promotes hatred or violence against people;
- encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- reveals someone's private information without their permission;
- deceives people, for example by impersonating a person or organisation.
Don't try to get around limits, overload the service, access other people's explanations without their link, or break its security.
Reports and removal
Every explanation has a "Report this explanation" link; you can also email abuse@elucify.dev. We review reports and may remove an explanation, or stop someone creating explanations, if it breaks these terms or the law. Removal deletes the explanation and every link to it. Reports about child sexual abuse, terrorism, or suicide and self-harm are dealt with before anything else, and we report illegal content to the police or other authorities where the law requires. We aim to look at reports within two working days. If we removed something of yours and you think we were wrong, email abuse@elucify.dev and we'll look again.
Limits
Free use has limits, including how many minutes of narration you can create each month and how quickly you can make requests. Narration audio is deleted some time after an explanation was last watched (see Privacy); the explanation then plays with captions.
Our responsibility
Elucify is provided free and as it is, without promises that it will always be available, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for losses caused by content that you or others create. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with disputes, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also use your local courts.
